Toppet Hill is a new creative business in Dumfries and Galloway.
Created by musician and songwriter How Askew, Toppet Hill provides a supportive and accessible creative environment to help people through the process of bringing music to life – from coaching in songwriting, through recording and music production services, to releasing original music and creating opportunities for live performance.
Studio
Small, purpose-built recording studio in a rural setting, between Lockerbie and Langholm in Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland.
- Flexible, acoustically treated space for recording and music production.
- Range of mics, acoustic, 12-string, classical and electric guitars, dobro, pedal steel, mandolin, bass, ukulele, guitar amps, fx, keyboards and virtual instruments.
- Whether you’re just starting out or a seasoned musician looking for a change of scene, it’s got everything you need for personal expression, artistic exploration, or just sharing in the sheer joy of creating music.
- Book studio time from £20 per hour.
- Online and remote recording and mixing services also available.
- Production services and coaching to help aspiring musicians bring their music to life – from songwriting, to recording, production and promotion.
- Tuition and coaching in guitar, music technology tools like Cubase, Logic, Reason Studio and Ableton Live.
- 1 day and 2 day workshops covering the basics of music production.
- Songwriting retreat and residential recording options.
